Why FHYC
A club marked on cruising boaters’ charts
This private club — built and maintained by its members — has become a place marked on many cruising boaters’ charts as somewhere you’ll be greeted with a smile and be most welcome.
Cruisers, anglers, and sailors all call FHYC home. Membership means a slip with grass at your transom, a clubhouse with your name known at the bar, storage for the winter, and a calendar full of reasons to come down to the river.

Stop by & say hello
Visit the club, walk the grounds, and talk with our members. General membership meetings are the first Tuesday of every month at 7:30 PM.

Submit your application
Download the membership application and send it to our Membership Chairman. Two Full Members sponsor each applicant.

Get to know the club
Candidates attend three general meetings a year — plenty of chances to find your dock neighbors before you have a dock.

Join the work parties that keep the club member-built and member-run — it’s how FHYC has stayed affordable and close-knit since 1949.

The Honest Pitch
Built so working families could afford the water
FHYC was organized in 1949 “so that the average working man could afford to belong to the club and participate in boating.” Seventy-seven years later, that’s still the point: a real yacht club, without the yacht-club airs.
